Win 32 Virus Infection – removal advice?
I got infected with Win32 and took some steps to remove it. Can somebody tell me if I managed to get rid of it completely? Here’s what i did:
I committed the cardinal sin of inserting a floppy disk and opening it without scanning for viruses. Avast! immediately detected Win 32 and I chose the “delete” virus option. I later on did a hard disk deep scan with Avast! to ensure that there were no remnants.
1. Avast! detected an infection on my hard disk and I tried to remove it. It could not uninstall Win32 completely.
2. I ran Spybot S&D, it spotted some more worm files and delted everything else but 1 boot sector entry.
3. I ran Ad Aware, didn’t detect anything.
4. I ran HijackThis, spotted some Win32 related registry entries and deleted them as well.
5. Manually did a search and delete for some other files.
All this was done in safe mode with system restore off? I am paranoid about win32 coz its a keylogger.

that’s a tut i wrote on how to properly remove a virus. it’s very simple and easy to understand and you can print it so you don’t need to be online, so you don’t have to run to this site that site for this or that.
